Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR)
In the MBBR systems, thanks to the surface area of the large number of biofilm carriers placed in the biological reactor, higher biological treatment efficiencies can be obtained in much smaller volumes. Thanks to biofilm carriers, the system operates in a stable manner without being affected by deviations (pH, temperature, toxic shock, organic load) during operation.
In populated cities, many domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plants cannot increase capacity due to the high cost of new productions (concrete ponds, mechanical equipment, etc.) or lack of sufficient space. However, wastewater flow rates and pollution loads increase day by day, waiting time of wastewater in ponds decreases, which causes the desired quality of water not to be treated. Lack of wastewater treatment, water is also plentiful as ever in the countries where Turkey is a very serious problem. This is where the Hybrid Bio Film Reactor System, shortly known as MBBR, comes into play. MBBR is very simple in use. They are used in wastewater treatment plants in ventilation ponds to a certain extent.
